BCEF-T Injection is a combination of  Ceftriaxone 1000 mg + Tazobactum 125 mg

It is a combination of two medicines – Ceftriaxone and Tazobactum which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It is used to treat several bacterial infections like lower respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia, acute bacterial otitis media lower respiratory tract infectionspneumonia, infection in the ear, skinurinary tract infections, gonorrhoea, pelvic inflammatory disease, bacterial septicaemia, bone and joint infectionsintra-abdominal infections, including peritonitis and biliary tract infections, bacterial meningitissurgical prophylaxis (pre-operative antibiotics, infections in neutropenic patients).

Pneumonia is an infection which causes inflammation in the air sac producing cough with phlegm and shortness of breath. Urinary tract infection affects the urinary bladder and later gets spreads to the kidneys. Bacteraemia is an infectious condition indicating the presence of bacteria in the bloodstream. Bacterial meningitis is an infection caused by bacteria in the region surrounding the brain. Neutropenic is low levels of neutrophils (a type of white blood cells) in our body.

Inform your doctor or your health- care professional before any laboratory tests as BCEF-T will interact with medical investigations. Inform your doctor if you are allergic to any antibiotics or to any other medicines.

It should not be used in patients allergic to penicillin antibiotics, cefepime, tazobactam and other beta-lactam antibiotics.

It should be used with caution in patients with or history of allergic reactionsdiarrhoeagastrointestinal disease (colitis) kidney and liver diseases.

Avoid concomitant use of other antibiotics and diuretics along with BCEF-T, It should be used with caution in pregnant and breast-feeding women. Consult your doctor before receiving the medicine.

It should be used with caution in newborns, children and adolescents. It is not recommended for use in premature babies and in children with or history of jaundice and hyperbilirubinemia. Consult your doctor before receiving the medicine.

It should be used with caution in elderly people. The common side effect of receiving BCEF-T are diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting and skin allergies. Consult your doctor if any of the above side effects worsen or persist for a longer duration.
